Regarded by the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA) as the first open LGBTQ reporter in mainstream news media in the United States. Formerly with the Buffalo Evening News and the New Orleans States-Item. Adjunct Professor, University of Pennsylvania. Appears regularly on television channel CNN’s 'Reliable Sources'.
