Description

Theatre and film actor and later writer of biographies. Appeared in the films 'Shades of Gray' (1948), 'Man Against Crime' (1949) and 'The Philco Television Playhouse' (1948). Writer of biographies for Harper's Magazine, including those of Nora Joyce, E.M. Forster, Lynn Fontanne and Alfred Lunt. Benefactor of the Windham Campbell Literary Prize at Yale University. Partner was writer Donald Wyndham.
