World-renowned plant hunter and wildlife gardener. Personal gardens include Heronswood and Windcliff. Recipient of numerous horticultural awards. Author of the books 'Winter Ornamentals' (1993), 'The Explorer's Garden: Rare and Unusual Perrenials' (1999), 'The Explorer's Garden: Shrubs and Vines From the Four Corners of the World' (2009), and 'Windcliff' (2020). Also known as Dan Hinkley.
