Description

Director of the undergraduate journalism program, Ryerson University, Toronto. Former newspaper journalist. Author of the book 'Intolerable: A Memoir of Extremes' (2012), a memoir of his experience as a gay man growing up in the Middle East, winner of the 2013 Toronto Book Award and was shortlisted for numerous other book awards. His research interests include the role of the critic in contemporary journalism and the history (and proliferation) of English-language dailies in the Middle East.
