Rower, and the first woman to row solo from Japan to Alaska, on her route to circumnavigate the world by rowing, bike, and kayak. Also was the first woman and the youngest person to row solo across the Indian Ocean. Extreme athlete. Author of the book 'A Dip in the Ocean: Rowing Solo Across The Indian Ocean' (2011). Appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire, 2011.
