Lawyer and former President of the Law Society of New South Wales. Founder of the law firm Marsdens. Notable for the defamation case against the Seven TV network, the longest running and most expensive in the world of common law. LGBTQ activist. Author of numerous works on legal issues. Appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (1994).
