Description

Wing Commander, Royal Air Force. Deputy Strategic Communications Advisor at Headquarters Joint Forces Command, NATO, since 2014. Has served in Germany, the Falkland Islands and Northern Ireland, and completed operational tours in Bosnia, Sierra Leone, and Iraq. He led the UK earthquake disaster relief response in Pakistan, and also commanded the UK Chinook detachment in Afghanistan. Appointed a Member of the Most Honourable Order of the British Empire (2008) for exemplary leadership on operations in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Established the RAF LGBT Forum, which he has chaired since 2006. Divisional Director at the Command and Staff College and worked in Army policy and doctrine. He was the head of Employment, Equality and Diversity for 3 years and is now a Chief of Staff. He sits on the board of Race for Opportunity and has advised the US and other nations on multiculturalism in Armed Forces. The RAF's most senior openly gay officer.
