Description

As an early protoge of Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld, he became the founder, Society for Human Rights (1924) in the United States, an organization which fought for LGBTQ rights. The SHR disappeared after many of its members were arrested and jailed, including Henry Gerber (who was unsuccessfully tried three time for deviant behaviour). Later helped to found the Mattachine Society in th 1950s.
