Description
Greek philosopher was the founder of the Cyrenaic school of Philosophy, whose teaching was the importance of controlling adversity and prosperity by adaptation to one's circumstances as a means to a content and successful life. He has thus been associated with hedonism and the pursuit of pleasure in life, and introduced the notion that pleasure is to be the highest value in life and pain the lowest. Emphasized that self control must be used to temper human desires. Student of Socrates.
