Description
Academy of Finland Research Fellow in Gender Studies, University of Tampere. Research focus is on the emerging lesbian and gay subcultures and identities and the gradual acceptance and mainstreaming of homosexuality within the Finnish society. Held visiting research fellow positions for a period of a semester at the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies, in CUNY, New York (1994, 2010), at WERRC in University College of Dublin (2004) and at the Center for Transdisciplinary Gender Studies, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (2010). Notable books incude 'Life in the Shadow and the Public Secrets' (2002).
