Description
Transgender, born as Donal Mark Foy. Led a legal challenge against the Irish government's refusal to accept the change in her sex status after sex reassignment surgery, despite having success in getting a new passport, drivers license, and other documents. Her success in 2007 led the Irish Republic to change its laws. Awarded the European Union's Citizen's Prize (2015) for her activism.
