Description

United Church of Christ Minister who came out as gay when his article 'Spiritual Exercises' was published in a gay magazine. Author of the book 'Christ and the Homosexual' (1960), arguing for the full acceptance of LGBTQ individuals in religious institutions. Recipient of the Award of Merit from the Mattachine Society. United Church of Christ Coalition of of LGBT Concern presented him with its Pioneer Award.
