Description

Author of fiction who directly addressed the subject of homosexuality. Wrote extensively about regional urban and rural life. Books include 'Les milices de Saint-François' (The Soldiers of Saint Francis Xavier, 1886) and 'La nouvelle Carthage' (The New Carthage, 1893). Wrote the homosexual novels 'Escal-Vigor' (1899), 'L'Autre Vue' (1904) and 'Les Libertins d'Anvers' ( Antwerp libertines, 1912). Known for his homoerotic correspondence with the journalist Sander Pierron.
