Description
Transgender male high school student at the centre of the controversy over bathroom segregation in the southern states. The school allowed him to use the boy's washroom until a community member filed a complaint. The case drew national attention. Grimm subsequently filed a lawsuit. A federal court in mid-2018 rejected the school board's attempt to dismiss the case, and ordered it to arrange a settlement conference. The court eventually ruled in favour of Grimm and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in 2019.
