Description
Theatre and television actor and singer. Won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his role as Lola in 'Kinky Boots', for which he also won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical and Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical. Appears in the television show 'Pose'. The first openly gay black man to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama when he won for his role in 'Pose' (2019). He has also released two albums, notably 'Billy Porter' in 1997. HIV positive.
