Description

Literary theorist, philosopher, linguist, critic, and semiotician. He explored a diverse range of fields and he influenced the development of many schools of theory, including structuralism, semiotics, social theory, design theory, anthropology, and post-structuralism. Prominent books include 'Le Degré zéro de l’écriture' (1953), 'Mythologies' (1957), 'Essais critiques' (1964; Critical Essays), and 'La Tour Eiffel' (1964; The Eiffel Tower and Other Mythologies).
