Description

U.S. House of Representatives member for California's 42nd Congressional District since 2022. First out gay immigrant elected to Congress. Mayor of Long Beach California 2014 to 2022, being the first Latino and first gay person to hold this office. Former city councilor since 2009, and Vice-Mayor of the council (2012-2014). Founder of the 'Long Beach Coast', a local newspaper.
