Description

Also known as Elagabalus, was a homosexual Roman emperor (218-222), taking the name Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus. He was called Elagabalus only after his death. His reign was known for sexual and religious scandal which alienated the public and the Senate at the time and led to his assassination. A museum has classified him as transgender based on historical evidence.
