Description

Reigned as one of Europe's most beautiful women, a model and sometimes an actress. Celebrity model with Vogue magazine. Had a short-lived romance with Max Aitken, son of Lord Beaverbrook, who did everything he could to break it up. She was caught spying for the Allies in Italy in December 1941, and survived nearly four years at the Nazi concentration camp of Ravensbruck, recuperating in Switzerland in the summer of 1945. Met and became partner of art dealer Erica Brausen. Also known as Catharina Koopman.
