Author of numerous important works, professor of Central Universidad of Venezuela and received National Prize of Literature in 1991. In 1984 hosted the television program 'Text and Figure', transmitted by channels 5 and 8 in Venezuela and by the Channel To, CUNY of New York. Novels include 'March' (1965), 'Percussion' (1982), and 'Later Caracas' (1995).
