Description

Documentary filmmaker, author, feminist and activist. Documentaries include 'NO! The Rape Documentary' (2006). Author of the anthology 'Love WITH Accountability: Digging up the Roots of Child Sexual Abuse' (2019, Lambda Literary Award). Visiting Professor at University of Pennsylvania, Sterling Brown Professor of Africana Studies at Williams College, an Adjunct Professor in the Women’s and LGBT Studies Program at Temple University, an O’Brien Distinguished Visiting Professor in the Feminist, Gender and Sexuality Studies Department at Scripps College, and a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago. She was an Artist-in-Residence at the Center for the Study of Race, Politics and Culture at the University of Chicago. Associate editor of the online publication, The Feminist Wire(link is external), and a member of the editorial board of The Feminist Wires Books at the University of Arizona Press.
