Description
Gay activist (member of Gay Liberation Front) and scholar. Led activist campaigns such as the Gay News Defence Committee, set up in 1977 to fight the blasphemous libel prosecution of Gay News. Author of the book 'Homosexuality in Renaissance England' (1982). Honorary Research Fellow, Birkbeck College, University of London. Former civil servant with Inland Revenue.
