Description

Stage director, filmmaker, actor. Notable for staging the plays of Michel Tremblay with whom he founded 'Mouvement Contemporain', and for the film 'Once Upon a Time in the East' (1974). Headed major theatre establishments: the French Theatre of the National Arts Centre (1983-1989), and the French section of the National Theatre School of Canada (1991-presnet). Recipient, Governor General's Performing Arts Award (2002).
