Description

Labour MP for Wallasey since 1992, who has served as shadow leader of the House of Commons, shadow business secretary and shadow first secretary of state. Made history by becoming the first woman to come out while an MP. Minister of State for Pensions and Ageing Society from June 2009 until May 2010. Appointed Shadow Leader of the House of Commons in 2011. Ran for Deputy Leader of the Labour Party in 2015.
