Description

Ballet choreographer and dancer. Notable for his contemporary ballet compositions with the London Ballet, of which he was a co-founder and choreographer. Later became choreographer for American Ballet Theatre, which he also co-founded. Taught at the Julliard Schoo1)(1951-1971), and subsequently became Professor of Ballet Technique at the Department of Dance, University of California, Irvine. Inducted into the Hall of Fame at the National Museum of Dance (1988), and recipient of a Kennedy Center Honor. The Antony Tudor Ballet Trust was created in his honour. Partner was ballet dancer Hugh Laing.
