Description

Labour Party member of Parliament, and former Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport (2009-2010), and Minister of Health. First Cabinet minister to enter a civil partnership. Former BBC radio reporter. Ran for Deputy Leader of the Labour Party in 2015. Recipient of the Stonewall Politician of the Year Award for his LGBTQ activism (2009).
