Scenic photographer notable for her photography of New York City architecture, for which she was often commissioned by the Federal Art Project. Early photographs were portraits of literary and art individuals. Made several important scientific contributions to photography. Work remains in many historical collections, such as the New York Public Library and the Smithsonian Institute.
