Description

Composer and conductor of tonal music. Professor of Music at the University of California, Riverside. Won the Grand Prize of the Delius Festival Composition Competition (1977); was awarded the Raymond Hubbell-ASCAP award for his compositions (1984). Composer-in-residence for the Colonial Symphony Orchestra (1990-92). Past president of the North American British Music Studies Association; associate editor of 'The Musical Quarterly'; scholar-in-residence for the Da Camera Society of Los Angeles. Named a Distinguished Alumnus of Jacksonville University (2010).
