Description

Geophysicist, and Professor at University of California, Berkeley. His studies of plate tectonics was an important contribution in the field of earthquakes. Also focused on the environment and the role of forests management. Awarded the Kirk Bryan Award by the Quaternary Geology and Geomorphology Division of the Geological Society of America, and the GSA's Distinguished Career Award in 1989. Partner was fellow geophysicist Allan Cox.
