Description

Professor of English at Towson University, and specialist in the history of the LGBTQ writing community. Author of the books 'The Violet Hour: The Violet Quill and the Making of Gay Culture' (2004) about the important influence of the Violet Quill author group. Other books include 'Gaiety Transfigured: Gay Self-Representation in American Literature' (1991). Co-editor of the book 'Men on Men 2000' (2000, Lambda Literary Award). Poetry collections include Heroic Measures (1998) and Cracking the Code (1985), which won the George Elliston Poetry Prize.
