Description

First openly-gay individual to run for public office when he ran for Senate in Kiambu County as an independent candidate in 2012, though he eventually abandoned the race due to lack of money and support. Anti-poverty and AIDS activist. Received a government award for reducing the stigma toward people with HIV/AIDS and has co-authored several books on Poverty alleviation. Associate Lecturer at the Tangaza College of Catholic University of Eastern Africa, and was also the Business Development Officer at the Social Ministry Research Network Centre. Established The Equality Party of Kenya to actively run for political office. Founder of the Kuria Foundation for Social Enterprise.
