Physician and sexologist. Gay rights pioneer, argued for the rights of homosexuals after Oscar Wilde's trial. Continuously attempted to overturn anti-homosexual laws in Germany which classified homosexuality as abnormal and a disease. Fame as a scientific investigator of sexuality through his writings and lectures.
