Description

Transgender judo competitor. Competed in the 1996, 2000, 2004, and 2008 Olympic Games. Gold Medal, PanAm Games (2003, 2007). The first transgender athlete accepted into women's competition: born with both male and female parts, she had surgery to become a woman. Also known as Edinanci Silva.
