Description

Olympic Gold medal winner, diving, 1984 (Los Angeles) and 1988 (Seoul), in platform diving and springboard diving. Winner of 13 world championships. Received the James E. Sullivan Award from the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) as the most outstanding amateur athlete in the United States (1984), and Athlete of the Year (1988). Tested positive for AIDS in 1988. New York Times best selling author for this autobiography, 'Breaking the Surface' (1996). Currently coaching. Competes actively in dog agility. Recipient of a 2015 Bonham Centre Awards.
