Description

Founder, with his sister, of the White Rose resistance movement in Nazi Germany, an organization that sought to protect the homosexual community from persecution and which published six leaflets to warn about the country's anti-gay and Jewish policy. Tried for his homosexuality in 1938, for which he was acquitted by a sympathetic judge. Both were caught and executed for treason.
