First-ever liaison to Native American tribes on environmental issues for the federal government. Former Democratic Senator of the Arizona State Senate (2011-2013), and former House of Representatives (2003-2005). Former Executive Director of the Arizona Commission of Indian Affairs. Served by appointment on President Clinton's and President Obama's Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS. Member of the Navajo Nation.
