Description

Former Republican Party member of the House of Representatives from Mississippi (1979-1981). Resigned when he disclosed that he was gay, and became an LGBTQ activist. He fought against the ban on homosexuals in the military and was a founder of the Fairfax Lesbian and Gay Citizens Association in Fairfax County, Virginai. Had previously been charged with sodomy twice. Died of AIDS.
