Description

Author of fiction, autobiography, essays and journalism. Homosexuality represents but one facet of complex individuals in his writing. Work shows his endearment to the Muslim world. Came out to his wife in a letter, which are reflected in his autobiography. Notable books include 'The Young Assassins' (1954), 'Count Julian' (1970, 1971, 1974), and 'State of Siege' (2002). Books were banned during the Franco regime. Recipient of numerous prizes for his work.
