Founded West Coast New Lesbian Feminist Movement. Author of 'Another Mother Tongue: Gay Words, Gay Worlds' (1984), and 'love belongs to those who do the feeling' (2008, Lambda Literary Award). Teaches at the California Institute for Integral Studies, the New College of California, and the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology. Received the Bill Whitehead Award for Lifetime Achievement from Publishing Triangle (1994).
