Author of fiction. Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair in the Department of English at the University of California. Formerly Assistant Professor of English and Canadian Literature, University of British Columbia. Directs The Insurgent Architects' House for Creative Writing at the University of Calgary. Edited poetry for the journal Canadian Literature (2007-2010). Books include 'When Fox is a Thousand' (2005), 'Salt Fish Girl' (2002), and 'Tiger Flu' (2018, Lambda Literary Award).
