Director & Professor, Institute for Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice and Professor, Language and Literacy Education, at the University of British Columbia. Principal investigator of the Cancer’s Margins project (CIHR, which studies cancer health knowledge) and author of multiple publications concerning the political significance of sexual and gender marginalization, networked social media and information literacies in shaping access to cancer health knowledge and its mobilization. Board of Directors member, Catherine White Holman Wellness Centre (provides low-barrier wellness services to transgender and gender nonconforming people).
