Description

Economist and former Member of Parliament for Northampton North (1974-1979) for the Labour Party. Local member of Hackney London Borough Council, 1982-1990. Prominent campaigner on access to abortion, gender balance, and protection for sex workers. Post-politics, she served as a member of the National Park Authority for eight years. Author of her autobiography 'A Woman in the House' (1980).
