Description

Transgender lawyer elected to the Uruguayan Parliament in 2014, being the first transgender individual to be elected in that position. Subsequently appointed a Senator in 2017 but was forced to resign when she was found guilty of forging legal documents. Considered to be the first transgender university graduate in the country (graduating in 2010 from the University of the Republic) and its first transgender lawyer. LGBTQ activist and member of Ovejas Negras (Black Sheep), an LGBTQ activist organization.
