Poet, novelist, playwright, satirist, travel writer. Memoir 'Left Hand, Right Hand!' (1944) was a resounding critical and popular success. Notable for his satirical and serious poetry, including The Collected Satires and Poems (1931) Mrs. Kimber (1937), Selected Poems, Old and New (1943), and 'Wrack at Tidesend' (1952); and novels, such as 'Before the Bombardment' (1926). Long time partner of David Horner.
