Description

Lawyer. Former Senator, representing the province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands (2011-2013). Supporter of the Equal Marriage Act and became the first same-sex married Senator. As senator, he proposed a number of bills aimed at granting further rights to LGBT people, introduced bills to legalise and regulate prostitution, reformulate the maternity and paternity leaves system, and reduce working hours. Has unsuccessfully run for Governor, for a seat in Chamber of Deputies, and early in his career for a seat in the provincial legislator. Sometimes known as Osvaldo Lopez.
