Renaissance poet and playwright known for both his sacred and profane texts, and often literary attacks on the powerful. Declared himself a sodomite from birth. Notable works include 'La Cortigiana' (1534) and 'La Talenta'. Noted for his fiery letters, that often turned to blackmail to maintain his lifestyle.
