Biographer and author of many novels, including 'Gertrude Stein: In Words and Pictures' (1989/1995, Lambda Literary Award), 'Kiss Me Again, Paris: A Memoir' (2017, Lambda Literary Award), 'Cecilia Bartoli: The Passion of Song' (1997), and 'True Secrets of Lesbian Desire: Keeping Sex Alive in Long-Term Relationships' (2003). Translator of feminist authors into German. Ordained as a minister by AIWP, the Association for the Integration of the Whole Person, and a relationship expert practicing a different kind of listening and intuitive, common sense conversation. Feminist and activist. Partner is fellow author Kim Chernin.
