Description

Novelist and short story writer. Notable books include his first novel 'Gaupa' (2016, Polari First Book Prize) about an individual growing up gay and living through the 2011 Arab uprising. Currently works with Saferworld as a Conflict & Security Advisor, specialising in the Middle East and North Africa. Previously he has worked with Medecins Sans Frontieres, Jordan University’s Center for Strategic Studies, and the Overseas Development Institute’s ALNAP network. Short fiction has appeared in Project Pen and has been shortlisted for a number of prizes.
