Description
Elected to the Senate of the Italian Republic in 2013. Former President of the Italian LGBTQ organization Arcigay (1998-2007). LGBTQ activist. Organized the National Gay and Lesbian Pride in Bologna (1995). Founded Alètheia - National Coordination of homosexual teachers (1998). Former city councilor and alderman. President of the Commission for the rights and equal opportunities for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons, at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers - Department for Rights and Equal Opportunities.
