Description

Former associate professor of education from Pennsylvania State University until 2013, runs the consulting firm Rankin & Associates in which she does climate assessment work for universities. Author of several LGBT books such as 'The Lives of Transgender People' (2008), 'Campus Climate for Sexual Minorities: a National Perspective' (2009), and 'Our Place on Campus: LGBT Services and Programs in Higher Education' (2002). Founding member of the Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals, a network of professionals doing advocacy work for LGBT people on college campuses, and the Statewide Pennsylvania Rights Coalition, a network of individuals and organizations across the Commonwealth committed to securing and defending full civil rights for LGBT individuals. Former head coach for women’s softball at Penn State.
